What We Do : Our Three Pillar Model
EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP
Scholarships funding primary, secondary, vocational and university education for girls and young women ages 12 - 24.
Included in the scholarship package is the full tuition, transportation, sanitary kits, school supplies, and 1 meal per day.
Weekly Workshops for leadership development, life skills development, and academic support.
Annual Leadership Academy to sharpen acquired leadership skills and further equip the girls with the knowledge and abilities needed to thrive in today's world. The academy runs for 5 days in Rwanda, 10 days in Haiti, but we plan to expand both programs into a 4 year program with a 3 - 4 weeks summer session.
YOUTH RESOURCE CENTER
Physical Space used for all recreational and educational activities including health education (i.e sexual and reproductive health), human rights, college prep, housing advocacy, and other topics for positive youth development.
Safe Space to discuss personal matters including gender-based violence, trauma, stress, and abuse among others things. Used also to provide mental health counselling and psychosocial support.
MICRO-ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
Promoting financial independence by teaching entrepreneurial and vocational skills.
Alleviating poverty by training in financial literacy, business plan development and health education (i.e. nutrition and family planning).
Providing start-up funds to launch micro-enterprises in their communities.
